Winter Small Groups
To register, contact or call 270-7613.
If you desire to pray the scriptures come for Lectio Divina and Centering Prayer on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Tuesday (beginning January 12) from 6:30-8 p.m. in room 119. Lectio Divina means sacred reading. It is not reading scripture for information but a slow reading that allows one to soak in each word. Centering Prayer allows us to rest in the presence of God. We do not offer praise or requests but simply "hang out with God". This group is ongoing, it is not necessary to attend every session - at least once a month is helpful.
Women's Timely Topics Group - Are you looking for a place to discuss issues of interest to you as well as to get to know other women at Good Shepherd? If so, the Wednesday night Women's Timely Topics is a group for you. Women of all ages gather to discuss issues such as Health Care Reform and how can Christian faith guide us as we seek ways to advocate for our points of view. Each Thursday the next week's topic is emailed to you so you have a chance to read it, but if you just want to drop in and haven't seen or read the lesson, that's okay too. The group meets from 6:30-8 p.m. Childcare is provided and we need to know by Tuesday afternoon if you need childcare. The cost for childcare is $5 per child per week. The cost for the study material is $8.If you do not drive at night and need transportation, let Lisa know by Tuesday afternoon as well. We always have decaf coffee, hot tea (snacks if someone brings them) and lots of conversation, laughter and a sense that our voices are being heard. If this seems like something you would like to participate in, even if it is on an occasional basis, register to be added you on the email distribution list.
Revelation: A Story of Hope - The Book of Revelation offers hope and not only the promise of things to come upon Christ's return but guidance on how to live as disciples now. Through the course of 12 weeks we will take an intimate look at the Book of Revelation and explore how all things will be made new. Begins Wed., Jan 27 from 10-11:30 a.m. in Room 118. Leader: Lisa McGehee.

Monthly Labyrinth Walk
First Tuesday from 6-9 p.m.
The labyrinth is a metaphor for our journey with God.The walk inward symbolizes letting go of the barriers and busyness that stand between ourselves and God. The middle of the labyrinth is where we center on God, reflect on God’s truth and love, contemplate in quietness and relax in God’s presence. The outward journey helps us process how our encounter with God affects our relationships with ourselves, others and the planet. The labyrinth is open to the public and is available the first Tuesday of each month from 6-9 p.m. Each walk takes 30-45 minutes. To complete the walk by 9 p.m., arrive no later than 8:30 p.m. There will be a brief introduction to the history of the labyrinth before you walk. Guides will be available to assist you. Children ages 7-11 are invited to walk the labyrinth with an adult. The walk will be in the main church building. Please enter from the front glass doors.
